Since its introduction, the new Prius Prime has gone head-to-head with the Volt, and this rivalry has recently reached its peak. This year, these two plug-in hybrids battled for dominance in the US market—trading places as the most popular model from month to month.

With an electric range of 25 miles and a variety of creature comforts, the Prius Prime is gaining traction with customers as its sales numbers continue to increase. As of October 2017, the Prius Prime was just 28 sales behind the Volt, and that gap is estimated to keep shrinking. By December, analysts predict the Prius Prime will outsell the Volt, making it the best-selling plug-in hybrid on the market.

So, what’s all the hype about?

The Prius Prime comes standard with a four-cylinder engine + electric motor hybrid producing 121 net horsepower. And with a fuel economy of 133 mpge, the new Prius Prime gives you plenty of time on the road while in EV mode as well.

Standard features in this model include an infotainment system, navigation, push-button start, USB ports, and Bluetooth. There are also a variety of options such as a wireless phone charging system, an eight-way power adjustable driver’s seat, a remotely controlled climate-control system, and an upgraded tablet-style infotainment system.
